AC/DC has been my favorite band since I first heard them on the radio in 1990. Brian Johnson has always been great with them, but Bon definitely had a distinctive voice that is hard not to love. Plus he was a genius at clever wordplay in his lyrics. If I ever get out to Western Australia someday, I’d love to visit his memorial. (I have had the good fortune to get to visit AC/DC Lane in Melbourne.)

I didn’t know there was a memorial for him, I’ll have to check that out if I’m ever down under. That’s a looongggg flight from the US tho

The statue is in Fremantle (which is where Bon’s family lived).

Yes it is, and that’s just to get to the eastern side of Aus.
I highly recommend flying Premium Economy with Qantas if you can make that happen. Free booze, food, movies, music make those 14 to 16 hour flights just fly by! (No, not really, but they are at least pretty comfortable.)

Oh man I just looked that up, sounds dreamy. Given the amount of dough that’d be involved in an Australia trip anyway, that sounds like a legit part of the plan. I REALLY want to go to Mount Panorama and I watch way too much Aussie youtube so this will happen at some point.

This record has been popping up a lot on my iPod over the last two weeks or so. I agree with your “raw” description. The most simple, straight forward rock I can name. It’s amazing how many of the progressions are just open chords.
